Typical cost: fully installed, a replacement deck runs roughly $350-$550/m² in treated pine, $550-$900/m² in kwila or hardwood, and $550-$850/m² in composite (materials, subframe, labour, fixings and GST). As a guide, a small deck (10-20 m²) is about $5,000-$15,000, a medium deck (20-40 m²) about $15,000-$35,000, and a large deck $30,000 and up. Removing the old deck, balustrades and any building consent are extra.
